PQC Migration Workshop Sept 17, 2026 Tallin Quantum secure trust services

TU/e Logo Bundesdruckerei Logo

Overview

The transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is a technical challenge. Quantum computers also threaten digital signatures, user authentication, and trust services. Attackers store encrypted data now and may decrypt that data later. This risks long-term confidentiality and could break the trust in digital identities and secure communications.

This workshop examines the migration to PQC and its obstacles. The program includes a keynote presentation and two practical examples of PQC use. These practical examples give motivation for the PQC transition and describe how to defeat some of the migration challenges for providers of trust services.

After presentations from projects with hands-on PQC migration experience, participants discuss two specific PQC topics in focus groups. The break-out-groups examine how to plan and implement the PQC migration and how the hybridization and algorithm choices can be realized considering existing standards and infrastructure.

This PQC migration workshop occurs co-located with the Trust Services and EID Forum and the CA Day 2026.
